
Things To Do
We are very lucky to be situated in such a beautiful part of the country with so much right on our doorstep. Our local beaches are part of The World Heritage site that is the Jurassic Coast we also have 2 National Parks within easy driving distance; Dartmoor and Exmoor. There are a wealth of picturesque Devonshire villages and Exeter, the county town of Devon, is within an hours drive.
Beaches
Charmouth
This beach is slightly shelving with pebbles and sand, Charmouth is famous along with Lyme Regis for its fossils
Lyme Regis
The beaches in Lyme are a mixture of sand and pebbles. It’s most outstanding feature is a delightful 13th century harbour known as the Cobb
Axmouth
Small estuary village with the harbour, ideal for fishing tackle and crabing on the harbour sides.
Seaton
One mile of pebble beach with a wide esplanade, good for swimming, popular for mackeral fishing of the beach.
Beer
Steep pebble beach, in a small sheltered bay. Watch the local fishermen landing their catch and take some fresh fish home for supper.
Branscombe
A long pebble beach below the picturesque village of Branscombe, the beach streches east for about 1 mile to Beer Head Sidmouth. Pebble and sandy beaches with wide esplanade, amenities within easy reach.
Shelley beach Exmouth
At present dogs welcome all year round, a very large expanse of sand and mud. Very tidal with a gentle shelf.

Both are very popular activities in this area, both can be as relaxing or as challenging as you wish, we are situated on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, very close to the coastal paths and Dartmoor, Exmoor, East Devon Way & Haldon (see below).

Small independent local shops can be found at Lyme Regis, Beer and Sidmouth. Axminster and Honiton are the local market towns.
Exeter is a large cathedral city with a roman past, it has museums, theatres and many bars and restaurants.
